From the mind of critic-10/11/16

From the mind of critic: “If somebody running for political office has uttered outrageous, sexist, racist and dictatorial phrases, why do we get surprised they say them, when they’ve been saying them for years? Did we honestly think it would stop when they got to a national stage? Do we continously get shocked at the increasingly outrageous comments, because we didn’t think it couldn’t get any worse? Or do we see the outcropping of what has been simmering for years, and just see it as a natural evolution of events, because this candidate is certainly no accident? Maybe we’ve gotten desensitized over the years by generations of if it bleeds it leads mentality. Maybe it’s a natural outcropping of regular people not taking care of each other, but tearing each other down by creating 3 classes of people in our society, the spewers, the people who get shocked, and the people who tune out. We are all at different levels in our journey, which could explain our reactions, or if we have open or closed minds and mouths. Once we realize that how we treat each other not only reflects what kind of person we are, but also the kind of person people want us to be, we’ll see that politicians, business leaders and people trying to reach their level, only say crazy things to the public, because they hear the public saying crazy things to each other. Not only do we have to be the change we wanna see, but we must act on it like no other time in history” 🙂
